This work explores the evolution of democracy as a governing style, through three different legislative bodies, and the implications given in the spaces they meet in. The shape of the room influences the social dynamics of the group, creating an environment of hostility, concentration of power, and consensus respectively. This is then reflected in the three panels, each using details from the meeting room of three different legislative bodies, the UK Parliament, US Congress, and the United Nations respectively.
The city is a whole universe of stories, activities, and life. There is more to do in one year in a big city than one could possibly do in a lifetime. This sculpture reflects that, creating its own universe, where building are that stars that incubate life, and planets are the infrastructure that supports life. The buildings here are particularly inspired by those in New York City, although similar buildings can be found globally.
